Pinch Me.

Am I dreaming?

This really is happening....
So many things have taken place in the last 4 days to make this new step in life with Justin seem so much more real.

Mainly, Justin signed a 14 month lease on an apartment in Castleton.  This is great for so many reasons!
1. Justin has a place to live that is closer to his work (at least one of us won't have an hour commute to work.....)
2. He was able to find a place in a relatively short amount of time, considering he starts his new job TOMORROW.
3. In 8 months, after we get hitched, we won't be homeless!!

I've been so excited about getting to have a say in a lot of the decisions being made.  I'm dreaming of paint colors, pictures on the walls, furniture arrangements and morning coffee on the balcony. Here are a few pictures of our new crib!

Between this new apartment, guest lists coming together, invitation ideas being thrown around...things really are coming right along!!

Coming Together...

Things seem to really be coming together for this whole deal.
I've made a list...
Been checking it twice...
and trying to enjoy all of this!! We've found a reception place, selected the bridal party and are meeting with a photographer on Sunday, so once a few of those big things are out of the way, I'll feel much better and have time to sit and think about all of the small details to come.

I am so very thankful for all of the offers of help I have already received. It's so nice to know that I have friends who are willing to help out in any way they can, even if they don't live anywhere near me. It's great to feel that kind of love from people you care about.

In a few weeks, we're going on (what I think is...) one of the best parts of planning a wedding. Wedding Dress shopping!! I'm going with my mom, sister-in-law, and Justin's mom. I'm excited to spend a day with the ladies and check things out and see what's out there...I would love to post pictures on here of what I find...but I know a pair of blue eyes that will be checking this page out for that sort of thing, so sorry! :)

Good Grief...

People say it takes a long time to plan a wedding...

I had no idea until I attempted to do one myself in a "short" amount of time.
It seems that every place suitable for a reception in the Greater Warsaw Area is either booked or waaaay over the budget. Go  figure. At this rate, I'm ready to have a reception in my backyard and just call it a day!

My personality (and Justin's) is one good for planning. I am the list-maker and Justin is the brains behind the operation. He thinks through every little detail the average person would forget about. Sounds great, right? However, with our personalities, we just need to pick a place and stop over-analyzing everything and just convince ourselves it will turn out for the best.

Definitely easier said than done.

Lucky

What a week this has been!

Full of wonderful friends, surprises, and a new blog!

First of all, I've decided to start this blog for a few reasons:
1. I thought I'd jump on the blog bandwagon and see how it was to write all of my thoughts in one place.
2. One of my good friends finally convinced me to do so.
3. I love reading other people's blogs, and hopefully someone somewhere will find some humor, comfort, or joy in what is being said.

I was able to visit one of my friends this past weekend who lives about 2 hours away. I hadn't seen her in a while, and it was so good to sit around the kitchen table with her and another friend and just chat. It's funny how you don't seem to miss that kind of companionship until you have it again. It's made me realize just how much I miss living with and near my friends. As much as I enjoy being an introvert, it is always great to grab a cup of coffee with an old friend and just catch up.

Then....
What a surprise this was!! I had no idea it was coming, or that it would happen so soon. I'm thrilled to be in this new phase of my life. As stressful as it can be, I'm trying to constantly remind myself to sit back and enjoy this time with my fiancee.  We will never have these 8 months of our lives back.  Also, even though we've only been engaged about 5 days, I can tell that this wedding planning business is going to be great for our communication skill development. I think it's great to hear all of the things he's been thinking of and planning about. So great to know that I have a guy who is truly excited about a wedding and wants to have a say in things as well. Frustrating at times, but still great.

I truly am lucky...
